Welcome to Grey Masts
SITUATED IN THE CENTRE OF TOWN AND DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM ONE OF ROBES PRETTIEST BEACHES MAKES GREY MASTS THE PERFECT LOCATION FOR A QUICK STOP OVER OR AN EXTENDED VISIT
Grey Masts is one of Robes proudest heritage listed sandstone gems. With a past that has played a huge roll in the settlement of the south east of south australia.
Built as a refuge for women that arrived from Scotland before they continued on their journeys to start new lives on the sheep and cattle stations that dotted the landscape of the South East of South Australia. Constructed from locally sourced sandstone and salvaged timber from many of the shipwrecks that occurred along this coastline in the early part of the 1840’s.
This building has continued to have a fascinating history over its many years and these characteristics lend an atmosphere and charm to this building that stays with guests long after their stay.
